Troy Davidson Wins Driving for Excellence Award

Werner professional driver Troy Davidson was announced the winner of the 2016 Transition Trucking: Driving for Excellence Award today in Washington, D.C.

As the winner, Davidson receives a fully loaded 2016 Kenworth T680. Hiring Our Heroes, Kenworth and FASTPORT teamed up to support the search for America’s top military rookie driver to educate veterans and America about the support from leading manufacturers and service providers that enhance the safety and comfort of the 3.5 million professional drivers while performing their duties.

Davidson, from Pensacola, Florida, joined Werner in September 2015. He worked in the U.S. Navy as a jet engine mechanic and joined the Blue Angels demonstration team before transitioning to civilian life as a government contractor. Davidson graduated from the Truck Driver Institute in Milton, Florida. In his free time, Davidson volunteers with the Make a Wish Foundation.
